Works of Righteousness

Paul concluded his epistle to the Hebrews with some brief teachings and statements of counsel. Read Hebrews 13 and find statements about the following questions:

• How should we treat strangers and those “in bonds”?
We should always remember those who are "in bonds." We shouldn't look down on them because we too are in bonds.
• How is marriage looked upon?
In verse four Paul talk about marriage be honorable and to be undefiled. It is a sacred thing that should be treated with the utmost respect.
• What warnings are given about covetousness?
We shouldn't covet and we should be grateful for the things we have. We should give thanks to the Lord continually for the things we have been blessed with.
• What is “the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever”?
Jesus Christ is the same always. He will never change or compromise.
• How are we sanctified?
We are sanctified through our Savior, Jesus Christ.
• How do we respond to those who rule over us?
We should respect and love those that rule over us. we should also submit ourselves to their will because they are watching over us. I think this is an important thing to remember especially now. People are disrespecting our President Obama and I think that even if we don't agree with what he is doing we should still show him respect, love and support.
• Who did Paul ask the people to pray for?
He said to pray for "us." He is talking about the church leaders.  They are strengthened by our support and love for them.
